What operators mean by a door shock mount
On many skid steers, the door uses a gas shock. Operators also call it a gas strut, a damper, or a lift support. Its job is simple: control the door as it swings so it opens smooth and stays put instead of slamming shut on your hands.
The mount is the hardware that shock attaches to. So when a buyer asks if the door “comes with a shock mount,” what he really wants to know is this: when the box lands, can I hang the door and get back to work, or am I driving to town hunting for parts?
That is a fair question. It deserves a straight answer, not a vague yes.
The honest answer: it depends on the door
We build doors for 12 brands: ASV, Bobcat, CAT, Case, Gehl, John Deere, Kubota, Mustang, Manitou, New Holland, Takeuchi, and Terex. Those machines do not share one cab design, so our door kits do not share one hardware list.
A Bobcat M Series door is a different build than a CAT D Series door. Swingout doors and rollup doors mount differently. Some older machines never left the factory with a door at all, which is why we also make door frame kits. Each kit is packed for the machine it fits, and nothing else.
Because of that, we will not print a blanket line like “every door ships with a shock mount.” That would be true for some orders and wrong for others. And wrong is expensive when your machine sits idle waiting on one part.
How to check what comes with your door
Run through this short checklist before you order any door, from us or anyone else:
- Read the product listing first. Our doors sold as Complete name their contents right on the page. If the part you care about is on that list, it ships in the box.
- Match the listing to your machine. Make, model, and series all matter. A door built for one series will not always share hardware with the next series up.
- Call or text (800) 781-8000. Tell us your make and model, and we will confirm what ships with your door, including how the shock question applies to your machine.
- No model number? Call anyway. Plenty of our customers run older machines and do not have the paperwork. Describe the machine, read us the serial plate, or text us a photo. We sort this out every day, including for older machines like the Case 1840 and 1845C that nobody else builds enclosures for.
What a Complete listing looks like
Here is a real example from our store. The Bobcat 463 / S70 Mini door is listed complete with:

- Locking latch with keys

- Weather seal gasket
- All nuts, bolts, and washers
That list is the box contents for that one door. It is not a universal list for every model we sell. What the warranty covers
The answer has two parts, and it helps to know both before you buy.
The door itself carries a limited lifetime warranty against door failure or breakage: one free replacement for life for the original owner, under normal conditions. That covers the heavy-duty polycarbonate door you are buying this whole kit for.
Hardware is covered for 3 months. That applies to the kit items like hinges, latches, and fasteners. If a hardware piece gives you trouble inside that window, call us and we will make it right.
Why “call us” beats guessing
