Custom Skid Steer Door: What If My Machine Isn't Listed?

In most cases, yes. If your skid steer is not listed on our site, call or text (800) 781-8000 with your make and model and we will tell you whether we can build a custom skid steer door for it. Custom fits are something we do on request, and older or obsolete machines are our specialty. We have built doors for loaders that most companies stopped supporting years ago. The answer starts with one short phone call, and it usually takes about a minute.

Why Your Machine Might Not Be Listed

The store shows the doors we build most often, sorted by make and series. It does not show every machine those doors fit, and it does not show every machine we can build for. So a missing model does not mean a missing door.

There are a few common reasons a machine does not show up. Many models share one cab across a whole series, so your door may be listed under a series name you did not search for. Some manufacturers renamed lines over the years, so the same loader can go by two names. And some machines are old enough that the rest of the industry quit listing them entirely.

That last group is exactly where we do some of our best work. Do not close the browser tab and give up on the idea. Ask us first.

Older and Obsolete Machines Are Our Specialty

Most door companies chase the newest machines and drop the old ones. We went the other way. We build doors for older and obsolete skid steers that nobody else makes enclosures for, like the Case 1840 and the Case 1845C. Both of those are full listings in our store, built and shipped as complete kits.

Those loaders have been out of production for a long time, but plenty of them still push snow, clean barns, and load feed every day. An operator on a 30-year-old machine gets just as cold in January and catches just as much flying debris as the guy in a brand-new cab. He deserves the same shatterproof polycarbonate between his face and the work.

There is a money reason too. A hard door and enclosure lifts the resale value of the machine right away, and on an older loader that lift matters. How to Ask for a Custom Fit

You do not need drawings, measurements, or any special know-how to start. You need the information off the side of your machine and a phone. Here is what to have ready before you call or text:

• Make and model, read from the data plate. Read it off the machine, not from memory. “The old Case in the back shed” is a start, but “Case 1845C” gets you an answer on the first call.
• The serial number, if the plate shows one. Some series changed cabs partway through production, and the serial number settles which cab you have.
• A quick look at the cab opening. Note whether there are hinge and latch points already there, or bare metal where a door has never been.
• A few photos, if you can text them. Two or three shots of the cab opening from the front and from inside the cab tell us most of what we need.
• Your phone. Call or text (800) 781-8000, Mon-Fri 7am-4pm CST. Texting photos to that same number works well for a lot of our customers.

That is the whole process. No forms, no waiting on an email chain. You talk to people who build doors for a living, and you get told what we can do for your machine.

What a Custom Fit Actually Gets You

A custom fit from us is not a trimmed-down universal blank. Every door we ship is CNC-cut to the machine it is going on, so there is no guesswork about the fit. That is true for a current Bobcat and it is true for a loader older than the kid running it.

The kit is complete too. The door arrives with the handle, locking latch and keys, hinges, weather seal gasket, and every supplied nut, bolt, and washer. If your machine never came with a factory door at all, we build a door frame kit; exact frame and door mounting requirements vary by model and are identified in the included instructions.

The warranty is the same one every door gets: a limited lifetime warranty against door failure or breakage, one free replacement for life for the original owner, under normal conditions. Hardware is covered for 3 months. Shipping is UPS 3 Day Air, $150 flat, typically 3 business days (not guaranteed).

A custom build also takes the same add-ons as our standard doors. Electric wiper kits, cab heaters, side window panels, and LED light bars all pair with the door, so a custom fit can grow into a full enclosure that keeps the cab warmer in winter and the dust down in summer.
