Need a door for a New Holland Alpha or Alpha Max skid steer? We build one for each. The New Holland Alpha Series door runs $1,695 and the New Holland Alpha Max Series door runs $1,595. Both are heavy-duty polycarbonate, CNC-cut to fit your machine with no guesswork, and both carry our limited lifetime warranty. Both ship UPS 3 Day Air, $150 flat, typically 3 business days (not guaranteed).
Here is how to tell which door you need, what each kit is built for, and what it will cost you.
Alpha vs. Alpha Max: two machine lines, two doors
New Holland’s Alpha and Alpha Max names trip a lot of people up. They sound like the same family, but they are separate machine lines, and the doors are not interchangeable. We cut each door to its own pattern, so ordering the right one matters.
Here is the short version:

If you are not sure which line your machine belongs to, do not guess. Use the Find Your Door tool on our site, or call or text (800) 781-8000 with whatever numbers are on your machine’s plate. We match doors to machines all day and can sort it out fast.
The Alpha kit is built for machines that never had a factory door
This is the detail most buyers miss. The New Holland Alpha Series door kit is made for Alpha models that never had a factory mounted door. If your Alpha came from the dealer as an open cab, this kit is the fix. You are not adapting a replacement door to a doorway that was never designed for one. The kit is built for exactly that opening.
That is a big deal if you have been told your machine “can’t take a door.” We hear it often. Plenty of skid steers left the factory open, and OEM dealers do not always offer a way to close them up later. Building doors for machines like that is part of what we do. If you want the background on how enclosures work on machines that shipped without doors, our door frame kit guide walks through it.
One honest note: if your Alpha already has a factory door on it and you are replacing broken glass or a damaged door, call or text (800) 781-8000 before you order. We will confirm the right setup for your machine instead of letting you buy the wrong kit.
Why polycarbonate instead of glass
We build the Original Shatterproof Polycarbonate (Lexan) Door. We were first to market with it, and there is a reason we never switched to glass.
Tempered glass does its job until something hard hits it. Then it is gone, usually at the worst possible time, with you sitting behind it. Polycarbonate takes the same hit and stays in one piece. That is the whole safety case in two sentences: protection superior to tempered glass, between you and whatever the machine kicks up.
If you want proof instead of talk, watch our hammer test. Leighton, the owner, swings a hammer into one of our 1/2 inch thick CAT D doors on camera, unedited. The door takes it. We put that video out because operators trust what they can see, not what a spec sheet promises. For the full material comparison, read our guide on polycarbonate vs. tempered glass doors.
There are two more benefits that show up every day you run the machine:
- Comfort. A closed cab helps regulate temperature. That means less dust in your face in summer and usable heat in winter. Add a cab heater and an electric wiper kit and an Alpha becomes a machine you can run through a Midwest January.
- Value. An enclosed machine is worth more the day you sell or trade it. The door lifts resale value immediately, so part of what you spend comes back at trade-in time.
What it costs and how the price compares
Our New Holland doors run $1,395 to $1,695 USD across the lineup. The two Alpha doors sit at the top half of that range:
- New Holland Alpha Series door: $1,695
- New Holland Alpha Max Series door: $1,595
The Alpha Series kit costs a bit more because it closes up a doorway that never had a factory door, so there is more to the kit than a simple swap-in panel.
Compare that against your alternatives. OEM dealer glass, when it is even available, usually costs more and still shatters like glass because it is glass. Vinyl and fabric covers from big-box accessory stores are cheaper up front, but they flap, fog, tear, and rarely see a second season. A hard polycarbonate door is the one option that solves safety, comfort, and resale value in a single purchase, with a limited lifetime warranty behind it.
Installation: model-specific steps and tools
Every door we ship is CNC-cut and precision fit for the specific machine it is ordered for. You are not trimming panels or bending brackets to make something “universal” work. The Alpha door fits the Alpha. The Alpha Max door fits the Alpha Max.
For the Alpha Max, the install instructions are available for download right on the product page, so you can read through the whole job before you spend a dollar. For the Alpha Series kit, call or text (800) 781-8000 and we will walk you through what the install looks like on your machine.
Review the printed instructions before planning the job. Required tools, mounting steps, and time vary by exact model; some kits bolt straight on and others require drilling and bolting. A second set of hands can make positioning the door easier. Never cut, weld, or modify a certified ROPS or FOPS structure.
One safety note: some machines use door interlocks or magnet switches tied to the loader controls. Do not modify or work around that equipment. If your machine has one, call us at (800) 781-8000 and we will walk you through your machine’s setup.
Shipping and warranty, in plain terms
Shipping: UPS 3 Day Air, $150 flat, typically 3 business days (not guaranteed). Weather and carrier issues can add a day or two. We ship across the US and Canada.
Warranty: a limited lifetime warranty against door failure or breakage: one free replacement for life for the original owner, under normal conditions. Hardware such as hinges, latches, and seals is covered for 3 months. If the door fails under normal use, the original owner gets one replacement, free, for life.
Not an Alpha? Other New Holland doors we build
If your machine is an older New Holland, you are still covered. Straight from our catalog:

Older machines are not an afterthought for us. We build doors for loaders that nobody else makes enclosures for, and a $1,395 door is a cheap way to breathe new life into a paid-off machine. For the full brand lineup, series by series, see our New Holland skid steer door guide.
Before you order: a 60-second checklist
Run through this list and your order will go smoothly:
- Confirm the machine line. Alpha and Alpha Max take different doors. Check your machine’s plate or paperwork.
- Note whether it ever had a factory door. The Alpha Series kit is built for machines that never did. If yours had one, call us first.
- Pick your accessories in the same order. Electric wiper kit, cab heater, and side window panels ship with the door and turn it into a full cold-weather cab.
- Have your info ready if you call. Machine model, serial plate numbers, and a photo of the door opening answer most fitment questions in one call.
- Remember the warranty is for the original owner. Buy it for your own machine and the limited lifetime warranty stays with you.
