Why put a polycarbonate door on a newer Bobcat
The R Series machines are the newest Bobcats in the fleet, and that is exactly why they deserve real protection. A newer machine has more value to protect, more hours ahead of it, and more to lose from one bad debris strike.
We make The Original Shatterproof Polycarbonate (Lexan) Door. We were first to market, and every door we build comes down to three things:
Safety. Polycarbonate offers protection superior to tempered glass. Brush cutting, mulching, land clearing, and demolition all throw material at the operator. A chunk of wood or a chain link that would shatter glass gets stopped by polycarbonate. Our owner Leighton smashes a hammer into our 1/2 inch thick CAT D door on camera, unedited. The door takes the hit. Glass does not do that.
Comfort. An enclosed cab helps regulate temperature. In January, that means heat stays in and wind stays out. In July, it keeps dust and chaff out of your face. You work longer because you are not fighting the weather all day.
Value. A machine with a solid door and enclosure sells for more, plain and simple. The door pays part of itself back the day you list the machine.

All supplied hardware and printed instructions are included. The door panel is CNC-cut for the correct fit, while mounting varies by exact model: some kits bolt straight on and others require drilling and bolting where the instructions direct. Our installation guide explains the general process.

A vinyl cover keeps some rain off and not much else. An OEM glass door is a fine factory part, but glass is glass, and replacing it means a dealer visit. Our door is built to take hits and keep working, and if it ever fails or breaks, the warranty below has you covered.
Make it a full working cab
Two add-ons turn the door into a year-round setup:
- Electric wiper kit, $229. Designed specifically for our doors, and it comes with everything you need to install it. If you push snow or work in the rain, get the wiper.
- Cab heater, $119. A compact ceramic heater and fan with a swivel base that hooks straight to your machine’s battery. Adjustable speed, heat or fan with the flip of a switch.
One note on newer machines: Bobcat R Series cabs have their own door sensor setup from the factory. Do not modify or bypass anything. Call us at (800) 781-8000 and we will walk you through your machine’s setup so everything works the way it should.
The warranty, in plain words
Every door we sell carries a limited lifetime warranty against door failure or breakage: one free replacement for life for the original owner, under normal conditions. Hardware is covered for 3 months.
