Terex PT80 Door: Shatterproof Fit for PT-70 and PT-80

If you run a Terex PT-70 or PT-80, you already know the hard part is not deciding you want a cab door. It is finding one at all. We solve that. Skid Steer Doors of North America builds a shatterproof polycarbonate door CNC-cut for the Terex PT 70/80. It costs $1495, comes with the supplied hardware and printed instructions, ships UPS 3 Day Air for $150 flat, and carries a limited lifetime warranty. Here is everything a PT owner needs to know before ordering.

Why a Terex PT80 door is so hard to find

Terex PT owners tell us the same story. The machine still runs strong, but support for it is thin. Big-box accessory stores do not stock doors for these loaders. OEM dealers usually come up empty. Online, you find plenty of doors for Bobcat and CAT, and almost nothing for a PT-70 or PT-80.

That is exactly the kind of machine we build for. We serve older and harder-to-find machines that nobody else builds enclosures for. A loader with plenty of life left should not run with an open cab just because the brand is less common.

We were first to market with the original shatterproof polycarbonate (Lexan) door, and Terex has its own dedicated spot in our lineup. If you want the full picture of what we build for the brand, see our Terex skid steer door guide.

What the PT 70/80 door is

This is a full door and cab enclosure made from heavy-duty polycarbonate. Its panel is CNC-cut for the Terex PT-70 and PT-80 door opening, and the supplied hardware and printed instructions are included. Mounting requirements, tools, and timing vary by exact model.

Polycarbonate is the whole point. It offers protection superior to tempered glass. Glass shatters when a branch kicks back or a chain snaps. Polycarbonate takes the hit. Our owner Leighton has smashed a hammer into our 1/2 inch CAT D door on camera, unedited, to prove the material. If you want the deeper material breakdown, read polycarbonate vs tempered glass for skid steer doors.

Three things a door does for a working PT:

  • Safety. A hard barrier between you and flying debris, with protection superior to tempered glass.
  • Comfort. An enclosed cab helps regulate cab temperature, so winter plowing and summer brush work both get easier.
  • Value. An enclosure gives the machine an immediate resale-value lift. On a less common brand, a machine that presents well stands out.

What comes with your order

Here is the concrete rundown, no surprises at the crate:

  • The door, CNC-cut from heavy-duty polycarbonate for the PT-70 and PT-80. Fits the factory opening.
  • The hardware to install it, covered by a 3-month hardware warranty.
  • Mounting hardware is included, and printed instructions ship with the door. The door is built to your machine, not adapted to it.
  • The limited lifetime warranty on the door itself, in writing.

Popular add-ons for PT owners: an electric wiper kit at $229 for rain and snow work, a cab heater at $119, side window panels, and LED light bars. If you are unsure what your setup needs, call or text (800) 781-8000 and we will walk through it with you.

Your options for closing in a PT-70 or PT-80 cab

Option Cost Protection Fit on a PT-70/80
Run it open $0 None. You wear the debris, dust, and cold. Not applicable
Vinyl or fabric cover Low Weather only. Fabric sags, tears, and fogs. Universal, meaning loose
Used OEM glass door Varies, if you can find one Tempered glass can shatter on impact Hit or miss for this model
Our polycarbonate door $1495 Superior to tempered glass CNC-cut for the PT-70 and PT-80

The used-door route deserves a warning. For a common machine, a salvage yard might save you money. For a PT-70 or PT-80, you can burn weeks calling around and still come up empty. And even if you find OEM glass, you are buying the same material that fails under impact, with no warranty behind it.

Our door is new, built for your exact machine, and backed for life. That is why owners of less common and older loaders make up so much of our business. We cover that whole niche in skid steer doors for older machines.

Price and shipping

The Terex PT 70/80 door is $1495 USD. The Terex line starts at $1395 with the TSR 50/60/80 door. No haggling, no dealer markup, no quote process. The price on the product page is the price.

Shipping is simple: UPS 3 Day Air, $150 flat, typically 3 business days after the door leaves our shop (not guaranteed). We ship across the US and Canada. Production and installation timing vary by exact model and required mounting steps.

The warranty, in plain terms

Every door we build carries a limited lifetime warranty against door failure or breakage: one free replacement for life for the original owner, under normal conditions. Hardware such as hinges and latches is covered for 3 months. Shipping costs are not refunded.

Think about what that means on a PT. The scarcest part of your machine, the one you could not find anywhere, is now the one part you will never have to hunt for again. If the door fails or breaks under normal conditions, we replace it once, free, for as long as you own it.

Own a different Terex?

We build for two Terex families:

Not sure which machine you have? That is common, and it is nothing to be embarrassed about. Model tags fade and paperwork disappears. Send us a photo of your machine by text at (800) 781-8000 and we will identify it and match the right door.

Common questions from PT owners

Is the panel cut for the PT-70 and PT-80 opening? Yes. The door panel is CNC-cut for those models specifically. Mounting requirements still vary by exact machine and are identified in the included instructions.

Will polycarbonate hold up to brush and debris? That is what it is made for. It offers protection superior to tempered glass, and the limited lifetime warranty against door failure or breakage backs it up.

How do I order? Straight from the product page, or call or text (800) 781-8000, Mon–Fri 7am–4pm CST. If you would rather talk to a person before spending $1495, we prefer it that way too.

What about a wiper or heater? Both are available as add-ons built for our doors. The electric wiper kit is $229 and the cab heater is $119. Most PT owners doing snow work add both.

The bottom line

The Terex PT-70 and PT-80 are working machines with nowhere convenient to buy a door. We build one, cut to fit, at $1495 with a limited lifetime warranty and flat-rate 3-day shipping. If your PT has been running open cab because you could not find anything better, this is the fix.
